Multimedia Wedding Production

Silver Sound provides cutting edge entertainment services as featured in these pictures and 3 minute video clip of our VJ Multimedia Package.  Philadelphia Wedding DJ/VJ Paul Evans brought the multimedia wedding production to the Hotel Palomar Philadelphia.  Catering to an intimate crowd of 80 guests,  the production featured two 50-inch plasma screens that displayed a slide show of the newlyweds ceremony as well as music videos throughout the night.  Featured lighting were two H2O lights(water effect lights) on the ceiling while other LED lights washed into the crowd.  Eight matching LED color bars washed the opposite walls of the ballroom.

It was an evening filled with romance, fine dining, singing and dancing.  Our Bride, Dana, stated in a review, “To put it plainly, Paul hit it on the Mark!! We went with the VJ/DJ package and could not of been happier with how the look and sound of the night went.”  To read more about Dana’s review of VJ Paul Evans click here.  If you are interested in considering a multimedia production like this one for your wedding or any event click here to request a quote today from Silver Sound.

Teresa & Tom’s Post-Wedding Day Party

Just a few weeks ago, our very own DJ Paul Evans was the entertainment and master of ceremonies for Teresa and Tom’s post-wedding day party at The Artesano Iron Works Gallery located in Philadelphia, PA.  This is a gorgeous art gallery that is becoming just as renown for hosting special events as they are for their art exhibits.  When a client needs a specialist in Salsa music and dancing they turn to Paul Evans.  Paul is a certified Salsa dance instructor and has no problem making sure everyone gets a chance to show off their Salsa moves as you can see below.  During cocktail hour held downstairs, Silver Sound provided some cool grooves as guests were able to enjoy a slideshow of Tom and Teresa’s wedding in Costa Rica.  After cocktails, guests came up to the reception room which had a  beautiful ambiance and art adorning the walls.  Catering was done by Sage Catering.  Paul kpet everyone on their feet with a setlist consisting of a combination of the latest dance music with some Latin selections for Teresa’s family and friends.  Teresa’s review said “We loved his selection and his perceptiveness on feeling the crowds mood to play what kept them going.  Thank you Paul for making it an unforgettable night!”  For the full review from our homepage click here.

Jason’s Bar Mitzvah

Amongst several events Silver Sound specializes in, one of the more notable is Bar Mitzvahs.  This past weekend Steve Vazquez entertained for a young man named Jason at the City Line Hilton Hotel with the help of two lovely dancers, Kelly and Jessica, and master of ceremonies Josiah.  Steve Vazquez was crankin’ out the hits while Kelly and Jessica were getting the kids energized on the dancefloor.  Josiah was on the mic bringing his own energy while leading the kids to songs like Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller.’

Equally impressive to the talent there was the audio and light setup.  There was an array of different high-energy lights flashing on the ceiling and dancefloor, uplighting splashing color on the back wall and even lights illuminating beneath the skirts of the speakers turning the speakers into lights!

Jason’s mom wrote us stating, “It was a pleasure working with Steve, Kelly, Jessica and Josiah…we were thrilled and felt very lucky to have such an energetic, professional group running our party.” She also mentioned, “He(Steve) saved me by having a copy of Jason’s candle lighting notes, because at last minute I realized I had left my copy in the car…and this all happened moments before the candlelighting was to start! Its details like that that I appreciate, because I really didn’t have to do anything but dance and enjoy our celebration. Thank you so much!”

Nice save Steve!

Another Great Homecoming Dance

Silver Sound launched another successful Multimedia Nightclub Production at one of the top schools in Pennsylvania.  It required a team of 5 to execute a large scale production such as this.  The star of the night was VJ Gaetano Bosco bringing his nightclub mixing style to the table.  He had all the current and classic hits thumping through towers of speakers backed by sub-woofers and music videos on a large projection screen suspended above.  DJ Paul Evans, professional photographer Marisol and DJ Kyle Henrick assisted with photography and videography enabling  students to see themselves on the big screen while the prom was progressing.  There was even a member of our team responsible solely for the intelligent lighting show that reflected the energy of the music Gaetano was dishing out.  Early in the evening there was a wonderful display of different dance styles performed by two very talented guest dancers.  Later on, MC Josia grabbed the mic and lead some 1200-1500 students in ‘The Cha-Cha Slide’ followed by ‘The Cupid Shuffle.’  But nothing was more impressive than that climactic moment when the confetti canon was fired raining streamers over the whole crowd.  These students will always remember this dance as the night that their school gymnasium was transformed into nothing short of a major nightclub.

Bridal Show at Mendenhall Inn

This past Sunday afternoon, Silver Sound DJs participated in the Mendenhall Inn Bridal Show hosted by Bridal Event, with dozens of other vendors to meet and greet brides-to-be.  It wasn’t hard to find DJ Paul Evans, DJ Michael Kane, and DJ Scott Pomante at the Silver Sound booth as you can see in the pictures below.  Our lighting setup not only attracted large numbers of guests to our table, but we noticed other entertainment companies pointing to our lights for reference when talking to brides at their table which was flattering.  There was never a moment during the entire show that we did not have one or more groups of people at our table inquiring about our professional services.  In fact, we had more brides fill out request quote forms than any other previous show we ever had.  A record-breaking 40 Brides!  We are excited to help each and every one of these brides find the Silver Sound DJ who is a perfect match for their special day.  Once all the brides spoke with the vendors they motioned from the Grand Ballroom on to the Gold Ballroom for start of the fashion show.  Here we found male and female models working the runway featuring some of the latest and most chic designs from companies  Iacobucci Tuxedos and Bridal Sophisticate.  There was even a guest speaker Mark Kingsdorf, president of Queen of Hearts, who extended tips on wedding planning to a packed house of brides.  We saw some amazing gowns, spoke with old and new friends, and most importantly helped many young brides-to-be take the first step to finding the perfect DJ for their wedding day.

Fall 2010 Homecomings

Silver Sound DJs has been sending out it’s top notch DJs to cater to the biggest Homecoming Dances in the area this season.  Some notable highlights shown in the pictures below are DJ Paul Evans’ Confetti Canon, DJ Jason Remaly’s towering light and sound setup, and DJ Gaetano Bosco keeping over 1500 students dancing and singing all night.

International DJ Expo 2010

Every year, Silver Sound DJs always make’s it a point to make an appearance at the International DJ Expo held in Atlantic City, NJ.  More than half of the company was in attendance.  The first day started with some great seminars, such as the topic of Beat-Mixing.  The following day, more DJs arrived and the Expo was open to all to see new models of lights, speakers, mixers and ground breaking innovations like the new Serato Dicer Device.

We were lucky to catch an inspiring VJ performance from Ronnie G, DJ Scribble, and a great seminar from Philadelphia native DJ Jazzy Jeff.  After attending several seminars that day about how to better cater to our future clients, the staff was treated to a grand dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse by company president Paul Evans.  Right after dinner, we headed over to The House of Blues to see performances by Alexis Jordan, Chris Willis, Jump Smokers, Judy Torres, Kelly Rowland, Mike Posner and Salt N Peppa.

The following day we attended more seminars such as the Intelligent Lighting Seminar featuring the latest technologies in controlling moving gobo heads with software.  In the end, every DJ took home something from this Seminar whether it was an experience, wealth of knowledge, or poker chips from the Taj Mahal.

Bridal Show at Crowne Royal Valley Forge

Silver Sound DJs participated this year in the annual bridal show hosted by Bridal Event at  Crowne Plaza Vally Forge on September 12, 2010.  Paul Evans was the man in charge accompanied by Todd Frederick and Fred Alvisi, assisting brides in finding the right DJ for their upcoming weddings.  It was easy to find the Silver Sound booth out of the crowd with our signature monogram shining over our water effect light onto the ceiling.  There was plenty of pastries, champagne, and live music going around.  But the main showcase was the fashion show featuring some of the most current and elegant styles for brides this season.  We met lots of great brides who are signing up with Silver Sound DJs for their special date and we look forward to meeting more next year!

Silver Sound Company Meeting 2010

On August 2nd, 2010 Silver Sound held it’s annual DJ Meeting at The Columbia Station in Phoenixville, PA.  The room tone was set with four wall uplighting using PAR 64 LED Cans.  Sound was handled by QSC self-powered speakers all supported on tripods dressed in tripod skirts.  Video projection featured crisp slideshows and video onto a 9×12 video screen supported on a high rise truss.  Additional lights featured in our meeting were The Chauvet Eclipse, American DJ H2O LED Light, Chauvet VUE6, and American DJ Mega Bar 50s.  All of these elements were showcased not only to display new innovations in the DJ market but to exhibit the potential of what an amazing setup can look like at your events.  DJs and associates came through the doors and started the evening with cocktail hour meeting old friends and new.  Not long after, all were treated to delicious dinners courtesy of the President of Silver Sound Mr. Paul Evans.  Once dinner ended, everyone entered the main room to take in the elaborate production setup for the meeting.  Speakers Steve Croce and Paul Evans put focus on new gear, such as the Numark Mix Deck, that can help DJ’s enhance their performance.  Other helpful hints were also offered, as well as praise for DJ achievements such as DJ Gaetano Bosco who just completed his one thousandth gig for Silver Sound.  The night concluded with a video montage featuring some of the early days of the company in the late 70s into the early 90’s.  It was most entertaining, but not for all to see.

Wedding September 25, 2010

Cliff contacted Silver Sound, from the Moshulu recommended list, ten days before their wedding.  DJ Paul Evans happened to be available and, it turned out, Paul knew Titi from her Salsa dancing at Brasils Nightclub in Old City, Philadelphia.  Paul had a few days to prepare an eclectic mixture of music from Nigeria, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti and Columbia.  Paul came with an assistant and three separate sound setups, with Ceremony on the upper Deck, Cocktails on the Mid Deck and the Reception in the Orchid room.  The weather for the Ceremony was perfect with blue skies and a nice breeze.  A lapel wireless mic was provided for the Officiant who remarked later, how clear her words were.  Cliff chose some special processional music and Titi walked down the aisle to an exact moment at the peak of a dramatic opera piece by Lucianno Pavarotti.  Titi and Cliff prepared special sentimental words for each other with the Delaware and Ben Franklin bridge as a backdrop.  During cocktails the Salsa tracks had some guests trying out their dance moves, other styles played were Calypso, Bossanova, Cha Cha and other flavorful genres.  During the reception our couple danced up a storm, the Nigerian and other fast moving African tracks along with Merengue and Salsa carried the day.  Cliff said “Ten Days or Ten weeks to get ready, you know what you’re doing.  I’m not sure what we would have done without you.”  Special thanks came via Email and Facebook from Titi where Paul posted over 100 pictures taken by his assistant.  Our couple is back in the Boston area, starting their lives together as husband and wife, where Dr. Titi Alabi has a family practice in Salem, MA.
